Sports for the un–sporty!
Lots of people want to try new things and pick up a new hobby when they come to university. While there is lots of competitive and professional sports clubs at Warwick, there is plenty to do for the beginner! As I have already mentioned lots of times in my previous blogs I am a member of a club called pick and mix where we try a different sport each week. So far this term we have tried floorball, fencing, ultimate frisbee, athletics, climbing, latin and ballroom, archery, basketball, and taekwondo. I'm not great at sports but we have a lot of fun trying all these new things! Here's some pictures of the stuff we've done this term:
There's many other ways you can get involved in sport at uni. Warwick active runs a lot of sports courses and also has loads of one of one events such as UV zumba! Although many of the sports have a lot of good sports players, everyone will welcome beginners. If you don't want to join a club there are many ways you can get involved in sports. You can book a squash court, go swimming, or take some classes.
One of the best things about university is that you can learn new things so I would definately recommend trying a new hobby at uni.
