Things that are keeping me calm term 3…
... well, calm-ish.
I'm pretty sure everyone has to have a way to de-stress when they're revising for exams, unless your insane and can work all day everyday for weeks on end and if that is the case for you then I simultaneously feel admiration and fear towards you. But for myself, and most other people (I hope!) having a good stress busting outlet is essential.
This term I've been using classes at the gym to keep my stress levels "manageable" and to take my mind of exams. It's not only helpful as a way to make me happier - oh hello after spin endorphins! But I also find gym classes give me a little extra energy when I might have been previously dipping in motivation, so really it's a win win! Minus the awkward hobble I do most times I get out of my chair after prolonged periods of sitting and the constant battle to make it up the stairs to floor 3, because I know if I get the lift I will be judged - harshly judged.
I've also been really enjoying cooking and baking a lot more than usual, maybe its the yummy food and baked goods or perhaps it's the hour spent in the kitchen away from my desk that's making the kitchen my happy place. Either way, I'm happy and my friends are definitely not complaining with the abundance of baked goodies. Vegan dark chocolate banana-bread muffins anyone?
